In control nondiabetic (CTL ND) rats, a rapid elevation of blood glucose (within 15 min) was observed, but with a rapid return to basal level. Diabetic and injection rats had similar profiles, with the glucose levels being much higher than the basal level and remaining high for more than 30 min.
