Effects of a Novel Glucokinase Activator, HMS5552, on Glucose Metabolism in a Rat Model of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

<div>Effects of HMS5552 on the expression of GK mRNA in the rat liver. The expression of GK was detected by semiquantitative RT-PCR (a), and the intensities of the bands were normalized against that of GAPDH (b). HMS-L group, low-dose (10 mg/kg) HMS5552-treated diabetic group; HMS-H group, high-dose (30 mg/kg) HMS5552-treated diabetic group.
