Clinical characteristics of Chinese subjects categorized by central obesity (CO) and metabolic syndrome (MetS) according to the IDF worldwide definition (). There were significantly higher waist circumference ( and ), systolic blood pressure (BP) (), diastolic BP (), plasma triglyceride (), and fasting blood glucose (), but lower high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) () in MetS versus non-MetS subjects, whereas there was no significant difference between non-MetS subjects with or without CO, except waist circumference ().
