Nrf2-Heme Oxygenase-1 Attenuates High-Glucose-Induced Epithelial-to-Mesenchymal Transition of Renal Tubule Cells by Inhibiting ROS-Mediated PI3K/Akt/GSK-3β Signaling

HG induced the phosphorylation of the receptor tyrosine kinase of human HK2 cells. HK2 cells were treated with HG for 24 h and then subjected to western blotting assay. Representative blots of the total protein levels of PI3K, the phosphorylated Akt, and GSK-3β (a). The inhibitory phosphorylation of GSK-3β increased Snail-1 and β-catenin protein levels.
