Gene Expression Profiling of the Sciatic Nerve in Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetic Rats with Peripheral Neuropathy

<div>Validation of the microarray data through qRT-PCR. Four specific genes of interest including 2 upregulated (<i>Mmp9</i> and <i>Mapk12</i>) and 2 downregulated (<i>Agt</i> and <i>Adipoq</i>) genes were selected for qRT-PCR validation. The qRT-PCR results showed that, compared with control rats, the gene expression levels of <i>Mmp9</i> and <i>Mapk12</i> were significantly increased in diabetic rats, with a fold change of 2.31 and 2.16, respectively.
