Tumor in brain region segmentation in a sample tumor brain MRI image. The brain MRI image after performing fuzzy c-means and connected regions operations is shown along with the final segmented tumor region and mask using the fully automatic procedure for tumor segmentation from the brain segmentation. This shows that the method proposed in this paper successfully works for tumor segmentation and identification along with gray and white matter segmentation. Thus, brain tumor segmentation is another application of this paper’s proposed algorithm along with gray and white matter region segmentation. (a) Fuzzy tumor region. (b) Connected tumor region.
