Visual Analysis and Prediction in Medical and Healthcare Data

Description

Currently, the concept of intelligent medical care has been deeply rooted in people’s minds. The efficiency of the medical and healthcare system can be improved through intellectualization, namely, intelligent medical and health systems, which has become a future orientation for the reform and development of the medical and healthcare field. The intelligent medical and health system involves surging amounts of residents’ daily medical information, and it facilitates people’s healthcare while bringing tremendous difficulties to the mining, analysis, and display of medical and healthcare data. Meanwhile, the differences in regional development and national economic conditions have brought new challenges for balancing medical resources and sharing medical and healthcare data globally. Therefore, it is of practical value to conduct in-depth research on the existing medical and healthcare data. Under the background of the current development of medical and healthcare data, visual analysis based on medical and healthcare data has become a research hotspot. The visualization of medical and healthcare data has a positive effect on the composition of the medical system by providing a scientific and comprehensive treatment scheme and improving hospital management efficiency.

However, in the current research, the scope and magnitude of data visualization are still at a low level, and there are some technical difficulties in large-scale medical and healthcare data visualization. Medical and healthcare data can be visualized using many algorithms and technologies, such as ML (Machine Learning), DL (Deep Learning), VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), and 3D (3-Dimension) visualization, thereby improving the accuracy and processing ability of data analysis. Furthermore, the latest technologies, such as big data analysis, IoT (Internet of Things), and Digital Twins have also attracted the attention of researchers, which are of great significance to medical data visualization analysis. Future research can help to expand the scope and scale of medical and healthcare data to a more diverse and comprehensive perspective based on visual analysis, including various medical databases. Meanwhile, algorithms and models should be optimized to improve the accuracy of medical and healthcare data visualization analysis. Based on the analysis of medical and healthcare data, the treatment services should be refined to reasonably transform the data mining results and improve the application effect of medical data visualization.

This Special Issue aims to tackle this challenge, encouraging authors to utilize more state-of-the-art visual analysis in medical and healthcare data. We welcome original research and review articles.
