Advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Healthcare 5.0

Description

Artificial intelligence (AI), smart intelligent devices, and high-speed data transmission networking techniques in healthcare units have set a benchmark in the ideology of healthcare. With the relentless shift to digital technology, healthcare 5.0 is very promising.

It needs fifth-generation (5G) communication as a fundamental network infrastructure to connect to medical devices. Internet of Things (IoT) generates accessible data for AI and contributes to digital wellness. Healthcare 5.0 focuses on improving the quality of life of patients and individuals worldwide. New technologies in healthcare 5.0 can help people live healthier lives.

The aim of this Special Issue is to bring together original research and review articles discussing advanced artificial intelligence and machine learning in healthcare 5.0. We welcome submissions about new mathematical modelling paradigms for characterizing physiological complexity and advanced data analytic algorithms for precise disease precursor detection. Moreover, this Special Issue also welcomes research discussing explainable and accountable decision-making models, techniques for solving important healthcare-related issues (i.e., security, trustworthiness, and reliability).

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Supervised and unsupervised machine learning in healthcare 5.0
  • Explainable artificial intelligence in healthcare 5.0
  • Health 5.0 information representation, services, extraction and discovery
  • Health 5.0 information system modelling, design, and health information visualization
  • Confidentiality, privacy, and security of health information
  • Biometrics in healthcare 5.0
  • Preventive healthcare through digital technologies
  • Internet of Medical Things in healthcare 5.0
  • Data mining knowledge, discovery and decision-making support in healthcare 5.0
  • Biomedical signal image processing and analysis in healthcare 5.0
