The average crossneutralization antibody titers (log ) elicited by different amounts of inactivated EV71 virions in mice and rabbits. Mu-2, Mu-5, Rb-2, and Rb-5 are antisera obtained from mice (pooled sera from 3 immunized mice) and rabbits (2 rabbits) immunized 3 times with 2 or 5 g of inactivated EV71 vaccine candidate formulated with alum as adjuvant. The name code of each virus isolate is described in Materials and Methods.
