Nucleotide-Binding Oligomerization Domain-1 and -2 Play No Role in Controlling Brucella abortus Infection in Mice

Control of Brucella abortus infection is NOD1 and NOD2 independent. C57BL/6, NOD1^−/−, NOD2^−/−, and RIP2^−/− mice were intravenously infected with 10⁶ CFU of B. abortus S2308, and the number of bacteria in the spleen was analyzed by counting CFU at 2 weeks after infection. Data are expressed as mean ± SD of five animals per time point.
