Bacterially expressed SLA (SLA-His-coli) was used to form the solid phase in an indirect ELISA for the determination of human IgG antibodies in 20 anti-SLA positive autoimmune hepatitis sera, 20 anti-SLA negative autoimmune hepatitis sera, 15 primary biliary cirrhosis sera, 15 HCV sera, and 30 sera from healthy blood donors.
