HLA-G Dimers in the Prolongation of Kidney Allograft Survival

Increased levels of monomer and dimer isoforms of sHLA-G1/G5 in plasma of nonrejecting kidney transplant patients. (a) Plasma from kidney transplant patients was immunoprecipitated with MEM-G/9 mAb. Immunoprecipitates were electrophoresed under nonreducing conditions and Western blot analysis was performed to determine the levels of monomer and dimer of sHLA-G. Representative data from patients with no rejection (NR) and patients with chronic rejection (CR) are demonstrated. Mean relative band density of total sHLA-G (b), sHLA-G monomer (c), and sHLA-G dimer (d) in NR and CR patients was determined by densitometry. Data are shown as mean ± SEM and analyzed by Student’s -test. NS: not significant.
