Microenvironment produced by BCG infection at MOI 1 affects macrophage proliferation. (a) and (b) Representative histograms measuring mean fluorescence intensity (MFI) of Alexa Fluor 488 after 12 h and 24 h. (c) and (d) Supernatant from infected cells was recovered at different time points after infection and added to fresh RAW macrophages and proliferation was evaluated at 12 h and 24 h in the presence of EdU. RAW macrophages were stained with Alexa Fluor 488 and proliferation was evaluated by flow cytometry. Two-tailed unpaired Student’s -test was used to evaluate differences versus macrophages proliferation in new medium. Bars indicate mean ± SEM from three independent experiments. ; .
