Neuroprotective Activity of ()-Epigallocatechin Gallate against Lipopolysaccharide-Mediated Cytotoxicity

EGCG reduces neurocytotoxicity of LPS to neurons. Primary human neurons were treated with or without 0.1 μM of EGCG for 1 h and then with 100 ng/mL of LPS for additional 48 h. Cells were fixed and stained with anti-MAP-2. Nuclei were counterstained with Hoechst. Data were expressed as mean ± SD of three independent experiments and representative figures were shown. , as compared with control; , as compared with LPS only.
