Persistence of Brucella abortus in the Bone Marrow of Infected Mice

Brucella abortus induces a granulomatous inflammation in bone marrow. (a) Mice were infected with B. abortus-RFP. The spleen, liver, and BM were collected at different phases of infection and subjected to histopathological examination. (b) Granulomatous inflammation was scored from 0 (negative) to 4 (severe) [19] in BM over time. Each bar is the mean (±1 SD) of an experiment.
