Hyperglycemic wounds exhibit greater IL-6 and IL-6Rα protein expression. Following four weeks of hyperglycemia, hyperglycemic and age-matched euglycemic control mice were wounded with full-thickness 4 mm biopsy. Wound tissue was collected, and total mRNA and protein extract was isolated as described.
