In these experiments, THP-1 cells were plated in 24-well plates and 24-well plate inserts of 0.4 μm pore size. The plates were incubated for 24 h at 37°C. After 24 h of incubation, THP-1 cells were stimulated with LPS (1 μg/ml), IL-4 (40 ng/ml), and conditioned medium (CM) from AGS cells, and finally, inserts containing THP-1 cells were added to well containing AGS cells, and the plates were incubated for further 24 h and further analyses were conducted.
