Susceptibility of K. pneumoniae to complement-mediated killing. 50 μl of the bacteria suspension ( CFUs) was mixed with 50 μl of either active or heat-inactivated rabbit serum in 96-well microplates and incubated at 37°C for 1 h, and viable bacteria were quantified after culture overnight.
