The Pharmacologically Active Alkaloid Cryptolepine Activates a Type 1 Interferon Response That Is Independent of MAVS and STING Pathways

Cryptolepine activates IFN-1 response in THP1-derived macrophages. The derived macrophages from the parent THP1 cells were cultured with 0.5–4 μM cryptolepine (CRYPT). IFN-α (400 IU/mL) was employed as an experimental positive control. The IFIT1 induction (a), as well as cell viability (b), was evaluated after 24 h.
