The Pharmacologically Active Alkaloid Cryptolepine Activates a Type 1 Interferon Response That Is Independent of MAVS and STING Pathways

<div>Cryptolepine increases STAT1 and OAS3 protein levels in THP1-derived macrophages. The derived macrophages were cotreated with fludarabine (FLUD) and cryptolepine (CRYPT) or IFN-<i>α</i>. The target proteins were assessed after 24 h by western blotting using the indicated antibodies. <i>β</i>-Actin (ACTB) was included as a protein loading control.
