Systemic Autoimmune Diseases
Description
Systemic autoimmune diseases are a group of common diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis systemic lupus erythematosus, spondyloarthropathy, Sjogren’s syndrome, polymyositis, dermatomyositis, and so forth. They are a leading cause of death and disability. With the use of glucocorticoid and immune suppression drugs, and new developed biologics, the outcome of this group of diseases has greatly improved, but there is still no cure for them. Knowledge of the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of those diseases will lead to better understanding of the diseases and better care of patients.
We invite investigators to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the molecular pathology underlying systemic autoimmune diseases, the development of strategies to treat these conditions, and the evaluation of outcomes. We are particularly interested in articles describing the dysregulation, tolerance breaking of immune system; new strategies in treating those diseases; clinical studies; advances in molecular genetics and molecular diagnostics. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:
- Recent development in understanding the pathogenesis of systemic autoimmune diseases
- Advance in genetics of systemic autoimmune diseases
- New therapeutic strategies in treating systemic autoimmune diseases
- New diagnosis biomarkers and autoantibodies in systemic autoimmune diseases
- Clinical studies in treating systemic autoimmune diseases
Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal’s Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jir/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jir/amds/ according to the following timetable:
