Glial Cell Line-Derived Neurotrophic Factor Family Members Reduce Microglial Activation via Inhibiting p38MAPKs-Mediated Inflammatory Responses

GFL trigger p38-MAPK pathways in rat microglial cells. We investigated changes in the phosphorylation state of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) p38 in rat microglia stimulated for 1 hr. GDNF (a), NRTN (b), ARTN (c), and PSPN (d) increase phosphorylation of p38, whereas addition of GFL decreases the signaling mechanism. Figure 6 shows representative images of the western blot analysis from 3 independent experiments.
