The average temperature 𝑇 of the 𝑚 individual atomic planes of the composite Ag–Cu–Ag NR with side length 𝑠 equal to 1.6 and 10 Cu atomic planes. The vertical dotted lines ideally locate the Ag–Cu interfaces. The curves are downshifted of 5 and 10 K for avoiding superposition. From bottom to top, the data refer to the temperature profiles at the beginning of the fcc-to-bct phase transition in Ag end portions, after about 29 ps, and after about 30 ps. At longer times, the temperature of interfacial planes starts decreasing.
