Effect of Different Catalyst Deposition Technique on Aligned Multiwalled Carbon Nanotubes Grown by Thermal Chemical Vapor Deposition

Supplementary Material

The Table 1 shows the different deposition time of iron catalyst using electron beam evaporation. The growth time for each sample is the same at 10 minutes. As observed from Figure 1, only random growth of carbon nanotubes is obtained for all samples. The grown carbon nanotubes also can be peeled off easily due to weak adhesion with the substrate. It is understood for the alignment of nanotubes, it needs high density catalyst. The low pressure achieved during the iron deposition is the main cause of low density catalyst deposited, which has been described in detail in the manuscript.
