Improved Sensitization of Zinc Oxide Nanorods by Cadmium Telluride Quantum Dots through Charge Induced Hydrophilic Surface Generation

(a) X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) of oxygen O1s spectra of 350°C air-annealed ZnO NRs before and after UV annealing in ultrahigh vacuum (UHV) environment. The peaks show an increase in oxygen content for as-prepared NRs while decreasing the oxygen in annealed NRs and (b) deconvolution of the O1s peaks showing a decrease in the lattice oxygen and surface hydroxyl content (red triangles) after UV annealing in UHV.
