By increasing nitrogen concentration over helium, carbon structure formed on anode electrode as can be seen in Figure S1. This deformation has prevented continuous synthesis of CEINPs. The SEM image of the carbon structure on anode is provided in Figure 3 and related growth mechanism is described in the manuscript. It should be noted that electrodes deformation effects on the formation and size distributions of CEINPs and CEMINPs. In order to evaluate the size distribution of oval shape iron cores, the equivalent volume of sphere radius was considered. Accordingly the size distribution for all samples are plotted in Figure S2.
