Variations in Postprandial Blood Glucose Responses and Satiety after Intake of Three Types of Bread

Satiety rating in the time period after intake of various amounts and types of bread. On separate days and after an overnight fast, 10 subjects rated their satiety during two hours after ingestion of various amounts and types of bread: triangles = pea fibre-enriched bread containing 25 g carbohydrate with 9% rapeseed oil; squares = pea fibre-enriched bread containing 25 g carbohydrate and 1% rapeseed oil; circles = regular coarse bread containing 25 g carbohydrate. Satiety was rated on a 7-point scale where 1 is very hungry and 7 completely satisfied. Mean values ± SEM. Note broken -axis. versus corresponding value when ingesting same amount of available CHO as pea fibre-enriched bread.
