Association of Human Intestinal Microbiota with Lifestyle Activity, Adiposity, and Metabolic Profiles in Thai Children with Obesity

Figure 4

Cooccurrence analysis was performed to determine the interactions between gut microbiota at the genus level in obese (a) and nonobese (b) children. The color of the edges shows either positive (green) or negative (red) associations between genera. The color intensity of the edges indicates the relative strength of the association. Cooccurrences with a value >0.05 were removed. This analysis revealed 90 statistically significant copresence (positive) and mutual exclusion (negative) bacterial interactions among 43 genera in obese children. In contrast, the cooccurrence network at the genus level for nonobese children found only two statistically significant bacterial cooccurrences.
