Epitaxial Growth of Ru and Pt on Pt(111) and Ru(0001), Respectively: A Combined AES and RHEED Study
Figure 4
(a) LEED (66 eV) and (b) the RHEED ([] azimuth) patterns for an Ru-deposited Pt(111) electrode surface (0.25 ML); the RHEED patterns (c) ([]) and (d) ([]) for an Ru-deposit modified Pt(111) electrode surface with the Ru coverage of 0.64, showing intensity modulation and satellite reflections besides the Pt substrate reflections; (e) the RHEED pattern ([]) obtained at another position of the electrode surface, where both the Pt- and satellite-reflections are clearly resolvable at the first- and zero-Laue zones; the RHEED patterns (f) ([]) and (g) ([]) for an Ru-modified Pt(111) electrode surface with ~1 ML coverage.
