Silica Sol-Gel Entrapment of the Enzyme Chloroperoxidase

Three sets of CPO sol-gel beads with CPO concentrations of 40 μg/mL (dark grey bars), 8 μg/mL (grey bars), and 4 μg/mL (light grey bars) were aged for one week. The storage buffer was replaced in the time intervals indicated on the graph and tested for CPO leakage. Each set was replicated three times and contained three beads per sample tube. The specific activity of the reference sample with free CPO in solution was  IU/mg. The column heights represent the mean value and the error bars represent ± one standard deviation.
