Microvessel diameters within the tumor margin and the tumor center of control animals, animals pretreated with anti-c-Kit and animals pretreated with anti-c-Kit followed by anti-SDF-1 treatment. All values are given in μm. Diameters slightly increased during the observation period. No significant differences could be observed between the tumor margin and center. Fourteen days after tumor cell implantation, microvascular diameters within the tumor center were significantly smaller in anti-c-Kit/anti-SDF-1 treated animals compared to controls and to anti-c-Kit treated animals.
