MiR-30a: A Novel Biomarker and Potential Therapeutic Target for Cancer

MiR-30a induces cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 and G1/S in cancer. MiR-30a suppresses cell cycle progression almost by cyclin-CDK inhibitors and IGF1R-mediated PI3K/Akt pathway. MiR-30a induced p53 and p protein expression to lead to DNA repair or DNA damage caused apoptosis. C-Myc, cyclin A, cyclin D1, and cyclin E participate in cell cycle arrest in G1 phase.
