Cell-Permeable Bak BH3 Peptide Induces Chemosensitization of Hematologic Malignant Cells

The combination of cell-permeable Bak and Bax BH3 peptides increases cell death of hematologic malignant cell lines. (a) Ramos and CCRF-CEM cells were incubated for 12 hrs with 20 μM of the PETK, PET, KT, X, and PEX peptides and the PETK and PEX combination. CDDP 40 μM was used as a positive control. (b) Peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) were incubated for 12 hrs with 20 μM of the PETK, PET, KT, X, and PEX peptides and with the PETK and PEX combination. CDDP 40 μM was used as a positive control. In both cases, cell viability was determined with MTT assays. The graphs represent the value of three independent assays. The ANOVA test was performed with Bonferroni post hoc analysis to determine the difference between groups.  < 0.05.
