Childhood Obesity: Today and Tomorrow’s Health Challenge

Description

Childhood obesity is becoming an emerging health problem at individual and public health level. The problem is no more limited to high-income countries and is rapidly growing in low- and middle-income countries. Its early- and late-onset complications warrant studying more about this important issue.

We invite authors to submit original research and review articles that seek to define the determinants as well as prevention and treatment of childhood obesity and its various complications. Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Recent developments on the etiology of childhood obesity and metabolic syndrome
  • Recent reports on determinants of overweight/obesity in the pediatric-age group in different countries
  • Action-oriented preventive measures against excess weight in children
  • Translational research in childhood obesity prevention and management
  • Reports on short-term complications of childhood obesity
  • Reports on long-term complications of childhood obesity
  • Updates in nonpharmacological treatment of childhood obesity and metabolic syndrome
  • Pharmacologic treatment for childhood obesity and metabolic syndrome

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jobes/guidelines/.
