Glaucoma Patients' Trust in the Physician

Scores on the Trust in Physician Scale (TPS), a test of interpersonal trust in the physician from the patients’ perspective, were plotted for Caucasian and for African American subjects. On the 0 to 100 scale, mean TPS score for the 108 Caucasian subjects was 8 0 . 1 ± 8 . 2 ( m e a n ± S D ) which was significantly higher than the mean TPS score for the 87 non-Caucasians, TPS 7 7 . 1 ± 8 . 4 ; 𝑃 = . 0 1 2 . The dark bars represent mean scores and whiskers indicate SD.
