The ROP rat images (b, d) are mirrored to eliminate nasal-temporal asymmetries, if any. Note that the ROP rat eyes are characterized by steeper corneae and relatively reduced anterior segment depths. Note also that the Sprague-Dawley ROP rat has a short axial length.
