Novel Technique of Transepithelial Corneal Cross-Linking Using Iontophoresis in Progressive Keratoconus

Figure 6

((a) and (b)) Graphs showing central corneal thickness (CCT, μm) and endothelial cell density (ECD, cells/mm2) compared with baseline at 3 days, 1 week, and 1, 3, and 6 months after T-ionto CL (black curve) and standard CL (grey curve), respectively. Bars indicate ± standard deviation. No significant changes of CCT and ECD were found after T-ionto CL during 6 months of follow-up. Major differences between treatments in the early postoperative period are due to consequences of epithelial debridement and direct UV-A irradiation of the stroma thinned by hypertonic riboflavin solution.
