The greatest number of conjunctival goblet cells correlates significantly with the greater severity of the tarsal papillae (, R = 0.499) (a), and limbal nodules (, R = 0.328) (b). In addition, inverse correlation between the number of goblet cells and the duration of the chronic disease was demonstrated (, R = −0.465) for probable chronic damage to the conjunctival tissue (c).
