Advances and Clinical Applications of Anterior Segment Imaging Techniques

Description

Anterior segment imaging is one of the most rapidly advancing fields in ophthalmology. Development of anterior segment imaging techniques including corneal topography, specular microscopy, confocal microscopy, anterior segment optical coherence tomography, and ultrasound biomicroscopy enabled objective assessments and precise visualization of the anterior segment structures. Use of these modalities has become necessary for better diagnosis and treatment of the diseases including cataract, corneal disorders, glaucoma, and disorders of lacrimal system. Thus, introduction of the advances of anterior segment imaging and its clinical application would be interesting and helpful to ophthalmologists worldwide.

We invite investigators to contribute original research, clinical studies, and review articles on the technologies of the anterior segment imaging and clinical application of the imaging devices. We are particularly interested in articles about newly developed technologies of anterior segment imaging, application of the imaging devices in the diagnosis and treatment of the ocular diseases, and use of the anterior segment imaging techniques in research and interesting photographs of anterior segment imaging.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Advances in the techniques of anterior segment imaging, such as corneal topography, specular microscopy, confocal microscopy, anterior segment optical coherence tomography, and ultrasound biomicroscopy
  • Diagnostic ability of the anterior segment imaging techniques
  • Application of the anterior segment imaging devices in the treatment of ocular diseases
  • Measurements and comparison of parameters of anterior segment structures using various anterior segment imaging devices
  • Application of the anterior segment imaging techniques in translational researches
  • Introduction of the novel and experimental techniques of anterior segment imaging
  • Methods of analysis of anterior segment images as well as anterior segment photographs
