Iron Deprivation Affects Drug Susceptibilities of Mycobacteria Targeting Membrane Integrity

Figure 3

Effect of iron supplementation on reversion of drug susceptibilities. Spot assays of iron deprived cells (2,2, BP, DFO, and BPS) at concentrations of 35 μg/mL, 656 μg/mL, and 386 μg/mL showing hypersensitivity with EMB, INH, and RIF and upon iron supplementation (FeCl3) of 0.2 mM for 2,2, BP, 0.3 mM for BPS, and 0.4 mM for DFO showing rescuing of the drug susceptibilities of EMB, INH, and RIF (62.5 ng/mL, 1 μg/mL, and 62.5 ng/mL).
