Neutrophil influx, apoptosis, and phagocytosis into BALB/c and C57BL/6 peritoneal cavity in response to L. longipalpis saliva. Mice were injected with endotoxin-free saline or L. longipalpis salivary gland sonicate (SGS) (0.5 pair/animal). After stimulation, peritoneal cavities were washed and differential cell counts were performed on Diff-Quik stained cytospin preparations.
