Detecting the Depth of a Subsurface Brine Layer in Lop Nur Lake Basin Using Polarimetric L-Band SAR

Moisture variation from surface to base of the lacustrine deposits at selected sampling sites. It can be seen that the moisture increased abruptly rather than gradually from the fourth sample (average depth of 40 cm) to the fifth sample (average depth of 50 cm) counting from surface to base in each sampling pit. The fourth and fifth samples were from different depths at different sites. The average moisture of the first four samples was approximately 2%, but the moisture of the fifth sample increased to 10% at least. The dash line in the figure stands for the significant difference.
