Algorithm 1

(1) Input weak-light image F

(2) Transform source image into YUV space using Eq. (2) and separate the luminance and the chrominance components , , and

(3) Extract the illumination component from using Eq. (8) to obtain image G

(4) Obtain the enhanced brightness image O using Eq. (13)

(5) Perform linear stretching on image O using Eqs. (14) and (15) to generate image

(6) Make color compensation to enhance the saturation of image using Eq. (17)

(7) Output the enhanced image J
