Wireless Sensors based on the Internet of Things

This issue is now closed for submissions.

Description

The perception layer is the first important part of the Internet of Things scenario. Among them, wireless sensors are one of the key technologies of the perception layer. Wireless sensing detection technology combines data and knowledge from multiple information sources to achieve better inference and constitute wireless sensor network node, and the network is formed through self-organization. Moreover, wireless signal processing algorithm are needed for sensor data preprocessing, as well as accurate mathematical models. It describes the relationship between sensor output and the quantity of interests and efficient wireless fusion algorithms (i.e., combined information from various sensors).

In recent years, wireless sensor and radio-frequency identification (RFID) sensing on the Internet of Things has become an interesting multi-disciplinary topic. It can be applied in multiple perception layer fields and a task involving wireless data collection problems from multiple information sources can be learned by using wireless sensor detection methods and strategy. In particular, due to the large number of applications of wireless sensor and RFID sensing systems in different IoT backgrounds, such as wireless data collection strategy and processing methods, toxic and hazardous substance wireless sensor detection, target tracking based on RFID cross-domain sensing and positioning, passive wireless sensor detection, etc. Wireless sensor and RFID cross-domain sensing in IoT scenarios, problems with intelligent signal processing have become popular research topics. In practice, the wireless sensor may randomly fail, crash, or suffer interference from the perception mechanism. Therefore, it is necessary to design an estimation method that takes these random limits into account.

The aim of this Special Issue is to collect original research and review articles discussing the application of IoT based wireless sensors and RFID cross-domain sensing methods. Submissions can also include theories.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • IoT-based RFID cross-domain sensing and communication
  • Signal processing in wireless sensor networks
  • Wireless sensor method for hazardous substance detection
  • Design and implementation of wireless image processing sensor
  • Position estimation in multi-sensor wireless networks
  • Artificial intelligence and big data analytics for wireless sensing
  • Deep learning and pattern recognition methods for wireless sensing
  • Security, safety, and privacy for RFID cross-domain sensing
