Image Enlargement Using Multiple Sensors

Description

Image sensing is generally performed with multiple spectral sensors. For example, combination of three sensors (red, green, and blue) is used for color image reproduction, and electrooptical and infrared sensors are used for surveillance and satellite imaging, respectively. The resolution of each sensor can be intensified by taking the other sensors into account and applying correlations between different sensors. There are various successful applications of image enlargement using multiple sensors. However, there still are several open issues in sensor processing which can be explained by signal processing-based image enlargement using redundancy among the sensors.

The scope of this special issue is to collect original papers on various aspects of image enlargement using multiple sensors, including theory, experiments, integration, and applications. We invite researchers to contribute original research articles as well as review articles that will stimulate the continuing efforts to understand the recently developed image enlargement using multiple sensors.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Multisensor super resolution
  • Color filter array design for single sensor imaging
  • Filter design for multispectral sensor
  • Super resolution for remote sensing or infrared image
  • Signal processing techniques for multispectral sensor data
  • Application tool for single-sensor and multisensor collaboration
  • Cost efficient multisensor interpretation
  • Denoising for noisy sensor data
  • Optical crosstalk removal for sensor data
