Achieving Green Internet of Things

Description

Sooner or later, the spurted notion Internet of Things (IoT) is going to fortify its global acceptance, spread, and industrial implementation. The entire IoT infrastructure is based on energy, that is, the vast amount of energy consumption and carbon emission occurs due to widespread networks, gig-data processing, unending communications, substantial computations, etc. Thus, it requires the development & implementation of efficient resource utilization & preservation methods, which is coined as “Green IoT”. Green IoT is a refinement of IoT in terms of reducing emissions and pollutions through its various ingredients along with low operational costs and power consumption.

Energy efficient techniques for pervasive computing that have sustained substantial growth and revolution are revamped as more cultivated methods. However, these energy efficient solutions are considered incompatible for IoT. Therefore, novel techniques need to be explored and developed to facilitate the rapid spread of this emerging paradigm in an eco-friendly manner. The notion of Green IoT can be elucidated as various efforts to maintain a healthy environment through adequate and efficient utilization of computing and energy resources equipped in the IoT environment.

This Special Issue focuses on the sensor technologies in Green IoT and is designed to bring motivation among the research community to look forward and share some valuable solutions to promote the emerging trend of sensor technologies. We welcome original submissions and review articles.

Potential topics include but are not limited to the following:

  • Energy-aware sensors for Green IoT/AIoT applications
