Spectroscopy Applied to Engineering Materials

Description

Engineering materials are always important tools in the technological development mainly due to their physical/chemical and mechanical properties in a wide range of applications and have wide applications such as machinery, vehicles, ships, construction, energy instrumentation, and aerospace.

The performance of engineering materials depends critically on their microstructures. It is of great importance in future technological applications to understand how the materials behave at microscale during working and how controllably manufacture. The development of engineering material has made impressive progress through use of spectroscopes analysis such as IR, SEM, EXAFS, XAS, photoluminescence, ultraviolet, Raman, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), and others to form the foundations of engineering materials which has been recognized as one of the key drivers of science, technology, and economics in the recent years.

We invite authors to submit original research and review articles on advanced spectroscopic characterization method of engineering materials such as metallic materials, geomaterials, and semiconductor materials and their applications.

Potential topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Electronic and structural simulations in solid state
  • Spectroscopy applied in engineering materials
  • Spectroscopic characterization of mechanical, optical, and electrical properties of engineering materials
  • Quantum-chemical calculations of the electronic structure of engineering materials
  • Application of engineering materials and its derivatives in energy conversion, storage environmental applications

Before submission authors should carefully read over the journal's Author Guidelines, which are located at http://www.hindawi.com/journals/jspec/guidelines/. Prospective authors should submit an electronic copy of their complete manuscript through the journal Manuscript Tracking System at http://mts.hindawi.com/submit/journals/jspec/saem/ according to the following timetable:
