(a) Raf-1 activity does not prevent cytochrome c release. CCL39-Raf-1:ER cells were deprived of serum for 14 hours in the presence or absence of 4-HT. Fixed and permeabilized cells were stained for cytochrome c and active caspase-3. Nuclei were stained with DAPI. Arrows show cells with cytochrome c released. (b) Quantification of Figure 5(a): Cytochrome c release and apoptotic nuclei were quantified from 200 adherent cells in triplicates.
