𝑁 refers to the number of mice per group. Values were normalized by setting a mean expression level from the normal air/OVA group and comparing values with the other groups. PAH exposed mice exhibited lower 𝛽₂AR gene expression than that of normal air exposed mice, regardless of sensitization (𝑃=0.054, two-tailed 𝑡-test). Differences in gene expression appeared more pronounced among the nonsensitized mice (𝑃=0.048, two-tailed 𝑡-test).
