Application of the Filariasis CELISA Antifilarial Antibody Assay in Surveillance in Lymphatic Filariasis Elimination Programmes in the South Pacific
Figure 5
Mf, CFA, and antibody prevalence in children ≤10 years only across the health districts in Samoa. Similar to the data across all ages groups, Upolu had a significantly higher CFA prevalence in children than Savai’i (; ; ). No differences for Mf prevalence were observed between the two island groups (; ; ). Similarly, no significant differences for Mf prevalence were observed among the health districts (; ; ), since Mf positive children were identified only in Leulumoega 1. Complementing this result, Leulumoega 1 recorded a significantly higher antibody (Ab) prevalence (*) than the other districts (; ; ). The health districts of Aua, Leulumoega 2, Safotu, and Tuasivi recorded no CFA positive children. There were no significant differences for CFA prevalence in children among the health districts (; ; ).
